PALE BLUE FLORALS AT CRUMPLEBURY

Updated: Jul 19

This week our wedding flowers are featured on the UK wedding venue finder site - CoCo weddings. Here's the full story of Robyn and Chris's day as told by the couple themselves.

When Robyn and Chris chose Crumplebury for their July wedding, they knew it was perfect.

The venue’s stunning countryside views and modern charm made them feel right at home. They went with a pale blue theme that added elegance to every detail, from the flowers to the attire. With exceptional suppliers like Cotswold wedding florist Fi from Corky & Prince for the flowers and Nicola and Glen capturing amazing photos, their day was as beautiful as they had imagined.

After viewing multiple venues, Chris and Robyn were delighted to find Crumplebury. It was the perfect mix, with stunning countryside to be seen at every window (of which there is a variety, many of which are floor-to-ceiling), a modern feel with charm carefully woven in, and an amazing team that made us feel excited and welcome from the very beginning.

The views speak for themselves, and coupled with the stunning wedding florals from Corky & Prince, we were confident that the natural beauty of the setting with the planned floral designs would be an incredible combination. Crumplebury also focuses on food, which is key for us in any decision.

Robyn wore a Rosa Clara wedding dress, which felt right as soon as she tried it on, making her realise quickly that “classic” was the look! Robyn also had a long veil and various pearl pieces from Anja Potze and Clare Lloyd. Makeup and hair were by the wonderful Sasha Brownand Carly Chambers. Chris’s morning suit was from Favourbrook, coupled with shoes from Crockett & Jones, creating a traditional and timeless look that aligned with Robyn’s classic approach.

We chose a pale blue theme, adding an elegant aspect that was touched on throughout the day—the flowers, Chris’ pale blue waistcoat and tie, the bridesmaid dresses, and the beautifully drawn petals on the wedding cake.

The tables were styled with a pale blue linen base cloth (ironed by Chris's Mum and Granny!) and, glass holders with pale blue Ester & Erik candles with combination of low and elevated floral centrepieces on tall silver stands. All provided by our florist Corky and Prince.

Our florist was the wonderful Fi and her team at Corky & Prince Wedding & Event Flowers. As part of her stunning floral design, Fi created a huge implied floral arch to frame the glazing in the Art Gallery ceremony space where we held the rehearsal dinner the night before. The floral arch provided an amazing atmosphere and a perfect backdrop for the ceremony and later during the wedding breakfast. Fi was the perfect person to work with—full of excitement with us at every step but also presenting everything so clearly and bringing the vision to life with complete perfection.

The food team at Crumplebury designed an excellent menu for an intimate tasting menu the evening before the wedding and for the wedding breakfast itself. Our beautiful wedding cake was made by Charlotte Cope of Perfect Cakes Co., with a choice of flavours that were near impossible to choose between and her delicate twist on a classic wedding cake (complete with hand-painted blue petals and light marbling) looking like a piece of art.

Nicola and Glen of Weddings by Nicola & Glen captured the most amazing photographs, using a mix of locations and figuring out the best lighting all day. They even wandered across the fields with us and agreed to our request to have a Crumplebury-cow in a few photos with complete aplomb! Neither Chris or I are really comfortable having our photos taken but Nicola and Glen made the experience effortless.
