My Story

This floral life found me in the wreckage of a 30 year corporate career that had me burnt out and left me seriously short of hope. In 2018 a phone call from a stranger asking me to create her daughter's wedding flowers changed everything, literally everything in my life. Designing that first wedding was an exhilarating blur of the familiar and the new. I was already seasoned flower enthusiast but wedding flowers was an unchartered landscape. I felt a joy and purpose ignite within me—a purpose far beyond anything I had ever known.

 

As a gesture of gratitude, my first clients gifted me not only with their trust, but also the funds to follow this newfound calling. And so, just two months later, Corky and Prince was born.

Looking back to that moment, I don't know where I found the audacity to say 'Yes' to my first wedding but I now understand that something was calling me home, to become the person I was meant to be, to creating the life rooted in purpose, beauty and creativity.

​

This is more than a career—it is the expression of who I am, the work I was meant to do. And this journey, rich with meaning and artistry, is just beginning.​

When all the razzmatazz is stripped away, a wedding is about two vulnerable souls taking a chance, promising to be the right person and dive into one of life's greatest adventures - marriage.

 

And in my book, that's something to celebrate. Which is why I take on only a limited number of bookings each year so I can immerse myself in your vision and execute it flawlessly.

It's my super power and one I nourish with constant practice and experimentation. Flowers and foliage are my palette. Every arrangement I create is a transitory work of art, tailored to reflect the client brief, the season and the setting. Fuelled by my love of art, design and travel, my creative practice is about pushing boundaries while keeping my clients vision at the heart of it all. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a grand event, my designs are crafted to evoke an emotional response.

Curiosity 

Floral design is an ever-evolving art form, and I approach it with a deep sense of curiosity. I’m constantly experimenting with new textures, unexpected colour combinations, and unusual floral varieties. Whether drawing inspiration from the changing seasons or from global floral trends, I believe that curiosity sparks innovation. This inquisitive spirit allows me to offer my clients fresh, dynamic designs that are always evolving.

Born into a farming family in Cornwall, I escaped the county bounds after an idyllic childhood spent either in the sea or on horseback. Although I was the 'creative' one, I did the sensible thing and pursued a career in business before I escaped for a second time.

My passions are many and varied - cat mumma; lover of colourful interiors and fine dining; seeker of new adventures and foreign lands; sipper of Negronis; voracious reader of contemporary fiction; accidental football fan; deliberate hugger-in-chief.​

​

At the centre of my world is my husband Al. He's been part of C&P from inception but at the tender age of 70, I'm letting him have time off to follow his own dreams and write that bloody novel.​​​
